Dear News Media Representative:
We hope you are making plans to cover part or all of the
quadrennial United Methodist General Conference at the Cleveland Convention Center May
2-12. As always, a "full service" newsroom will be available to assist you. Much
of the information you need is included in a Press Book. The
press book contains a conference schedule, issues, staff services, how the conference
operates, denominational statistics and history, etc. Click
here for the pressbook. Registration will begin Tuesday morning, May 2, at 8
a.m. in the Newsroom (Hall C), and will
continue throughout the conference.
You can submit your accreditation form on-line by clicking here.
For hotel information click here.
During the first week of the
conference, delegates will be meeting in 10 legislative committees. If you cannot attend
the entire 10-day assembly, we suggest you attend the second week when recommendations
from the legislative committees will be coming to the plenary floor for action.
The primary telephone number for
the newsroom during the conference will be (216) 348-2601. United Methodist News Service
will be doing a story after every major action and event. These will be distributed to
accredited press representatives at the conference or via e-mail (click on the subscribe
